APC scores not clear on iREV -INEC ICT Dep Director, Bayode

Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Deputy Director, ICT, Lawrence Bayode, on Tuesday, said he could not see the scores polled by President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, going by the results transmitted to iREV.

He spoke at the resumed hearing in the election petition before the Justice Haruna Tsammani led Presidential Election Petition Court, PEPC, sitting in Abuja.

He testified under-cross examination at the resumed hearing in the petition by Labour Party, LP, and its Presidential candidate in the February 25, poll, Mr. Peter Obi.

Obi and Labour Party, in the petition are challenging the declaration Tinubu of APC, as winner of the February 25, poll.

Says …I don’t know, the documents are blurry

Bayode, who was asked how many scores APC got from the iREV, said: “I don’t know, the documents are blurry.”

One of Obi/LP counsel, Patrick Ikwueto, SAN, cross-examined Bayode during the hearing.

Ikwueto: I like to suggest to you that this your application created for this election, was tested before it was used?

Bayode: Yes.

Ikwueto: The testing was done between February 3 and 6, 2023?

Bayode: No.

Ikwueto: You received the report of the testing? The report was received by INEC on February 20?

Bayode: The one you are referring to is not performance and functionality test.

Ikwueto: Is there a result of the report for the test of February 20.

Bayode: Yes.

Ikwueto: You produced this report on subpoena.

Bayode: Yes.

Ikwueto: My Lord I apply to tender the document of this report in evidence.

The respondents objected to the tendering of the document containing the testing report for the app.

However, the court admitted and tagged it as Exh X1.

Ikwueto: Will you like to confirm that in paragraphs 7-714, the report identifies the vulnerability of the server itself?

Bayode: It shows that the server is at risk, and has also been solved.

Ikwueto: If the e-transmission server was vulnerable, why was it still used.

Bayode: It is not vulnerable.

Ikwueto: The performance test was done at a pre production stage on February 4.

Bayode: No.

Ikwueto: Do you see para 7.3.3. Can you see the pre prod on it?

Bayode: Pre prod is the server he tested.

Ikwueto: The report (X1) also identify the remediation to resolve the high vulnerabilities identified in the report. Will you like to confirm that in paragraphs 7-714, the report identifies the vulnerability of the server itself?

Ikwueto: Do you see para 7.3.3 Can you see the pre prod on it?

Bayode: pre prod is the server he tested.

Ikwueto: The report (X1) also identify the remediation to resolve the high vulnerabilities identified in the report.

Ikwueto: I put it to you that an AWS cloud trail log will have an event time, event source, event name and aws region where it is hosted.

Bayode: They are listed here.

Ikwueto: You told my lords that for every election that it is the hard copy that is recorded and sent to iREV. And that the hard copy and the one sent to iREV will not be different. Will it altar the contents?

Bayode: No.

Ikwueto: How many scores did APC get in the iREV results you are holding?

Bayode: I don’t know, the documents are blurry.

Meanwhile, INEC has closed its case, after just calling one witness.
