Atiku, Obaseki condole Makinde over Ibadan explosion

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State, have condoled the Governor Seyi Makinde and people of Oyo State, over Tuesday’s explosion that left two persons dead and many injured.

Many houses were also destroyed by the explosion.

Atiku on his X, said: “I wish to express my condolences to the good people and government of Oyo State over the explosion that rocked the capital city of Ibadan late yesterday night.

“While the government continues to provide humanitarian support to victims of the explosion, I commiserate with the families of those who might have lost their lives and property to the explosion,” he added.

Governor Obaseki in a statement, said: “Our prayers are with my brother, Governor Makinde of Oyo State, the good people of the state, and residents of Ibadan, the state capital, which was rocked by an explosion yesterday.

“As you intensify search and rescue efforts, we extend our heartfelt regrets to all who have suffered injuries, and loss of lives and property.

“May God grant the souls of the departed peaceful rest and grant the families of the deceased fortitude in this time of grief,” he added.
