Sam Maris University, Ondo state gets FG’s approval

A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Sam Olugunorisa, has received the approval of the Federal Executive Council for Sam Maris University.

The University, which has been granted licence by the Federal Government, is situated in Supare-Akoko, Ondo State.

Ologunorisa, SAN, on the feat, said: “The University was borne out of the desire to increase access to quality university education, so as to accommodate the large population of well-qualified candidates that cannot have placement in existing Nigerian Universities.

“At Sam Maris University, we are motivated to create an ICT-driven academic environment, conducive and committed to high-quality teaching, experiential learning, cutting-edge and high-impact research, and good character.

“We are driven by the need to produce globally competitive graduates, nurtured with the spirit of entrepreneurship.

“We are also driven by the need to provide the new generation of leaders, with the requisite knowledge and skills required to run the emerging 21st-century knowledge-driven economy.

“The vision of Sam Maris University, is to be a world-renowned University that is internationally distinguished for its excellent research, high academic standards in legal, managerial, social, and applied sciences, and commitment to social justice.

“Its mission is to discover, disseminate and apply the knowledge of law, social, management and applied sciences for human well-being and the development of society.

“The nature of the proposed University and its focal point, is to provide quality instruction in Law, Humanities, Management and Social Sciences, and Applied Sciences.

“The University is fully residential and its door is opened to all, irrespective of colour, race, gender, and social status. Our ultimate goal is to produce job creators, rather than job seekers.

“The University is to run in four phases before it attains full maturity. Each phase will run for four years. The first phase of the University is 2023 to 2027.

“Sam Maris University which is being promoted by Sam Maris Foundation, is committed to providing a world class education that is bilingual, entrepreneurial and ICT driven,” he added.
