Smith hails Otuaro’s appointment as PAP Administrator

Ijaw traditionalist, Dr. Godday Smith, has congratulated Dr. Dennis Otuaro, the Ibe-Uyadonwei of Gbaramatu Kingdom, on his appointment as Administrator of Presidential Amnesty Programme, PAP.

Smith, fondly called “ Bounanawei” in a statement on Tuesday in Warri, Delta State, thanked President Bola Tinubu and National Security Adviser, NSA, Nuhu Ribadu for Otuaro’s appointment to head the amnesty programme.

The Chairman, Security Outfit for Burutu Local Government Area, Delta State, Smith, said President BolaTinubu made the right decision and upheld equity by appointing a Deltan, Otuaro for the position.

Smith, founder of Third Phase, PAP, also expressed confidence in the capacity of Otuaro to deliver on his new presidential assignment to reform the programme to ensure inclusiveness, transparency and accountability.

He urged all ex-agitators leaders, Amnesty Programme beneficiaries and stakeholders in the region to give maximum cooperation and support to Otuaro as he hit the ground running.

According to him, “There is need for peace and unity amongst Niger Deltans to maintain law and order that will bring about an enabling environment for investors and rapid human and infrastructural development in the region.”
