We’ll pursue our case to logical conclusion, Delta LP gov candidate, Pela

Delta State Labour Party, LP, governorship candidate in the March 18, 2023, poll, Mr. Ken Pela, has promised to pursue his case to reclaim his mandate to its logical conclusion.

Pela in what he called “Update on our quest to ensure whoever remains as governor of Delta State at the end of the 2023 election cycle is the result of an excellent process, said:

Top of the day and a very happy new year to my X (formerly Twitter) family.

You will recall that when I formally announced the commencement of this journey in a tweet on June 5, 2023, I stated that I was inspired by the profound words of Peter Obi, when he said, “If you must be referred to as ‘Your Excellency, then the process through which you arrived in office must be excellent.’

In the process, we have journeyed from the Delta State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, DSGEPT, where our petition was thrown out prematurely, to the Court of Appeal, Abuja, where we won the right to have our petition heard and finally to the Supreme Court, where our right was upheld before returning to the DSGEPT where our petition was dismissed and then proceeding to the Court of Appeal, Lagos, where our appeal was dismissed.

You will also recall that on November 24, 2023, after the dismissal of our appeal, I promised to communicate our next line of action after reviewing the judgement with our counsel.

I had, however, been unable to do that till now because approaching the end of the year, I had been really busy with the teams at my various businesses preparing for the challenges to come in the new year.

This also partly informed my being relatively inactive on X for some time now.

In the period, I had some deep introspection regarding our next line of action in the face of discouragement after the decisions of the Supreme Court on the Presidential Elections vis-à-vis the attempts to convince/induce me not to proceed further with this process.

Aand it is my pleasure and privilege to formally confirm that we remain committed to pursuing the matter to a logical conclusion for reasons stated in my tweet of November 10, 2023.

To the glory of God, we filed our Notice of Appeal on December 5, 2023, transmitted the records of appeal on December 11, 2023, filed our appellant’s brief of arguments on December 12, 2023, our appellant’s reply brief to the 1st and 4th respondent’s (INEC and PDP) reply on December 21, 2023.

Our appellant’s reply brief to the 2nd and 3rd respondents reply also on December 21, 2023, and hearing has been fixed for tomorrow, January 9, 2024 at the Supreme Court.

I urge #Obidients in Abuja, who are available to join me.

So far, the scores are 3:2 in favour of Delta Otapiapia/Sniper Forces, against Team Better Delta, and we are trusting in the God who never fails and is never late, to turn this final deciding round of the 2023 Election Cycle in our favour.

This 2024, ‘we nor go gree for anybody, because a better Delta must be possible,” he added.
