APC Congress Committee hails peaceful conduct of Ward Congresses across Delta

The Committee overseeing the All Progressives Congress, APC, ward and local government congresses in Delta State, has applauded party members for the peaceful and orderly conduct of the exercise across the state.
Secretary of the Committee, Mr. Simon Atigwe, gave the commendation while addressing journalists at Ward 10 in Oshimili South Local Government Area, after monitoring ward congresses across the three senatorial districts. He described the process as smooth, calm, and well-coordinated.
According to Atigwe, members of the committee toured several wards across Delta South, Delta Central, and Delta North senatorial districts without encountering any disputes or disruptions.
He said: “As part of our assignment, we have been moving round the state to assess the situation on ground. From Delta South to Delta Central, and now here in Delta North at Ward 10, Oshimili South, what we have seen has been commendable.”
He noted that the committee interacted directly with party members and stakeholders in different wards and found the exercise peaceful, with no issues requiring intervention.
“There has been no cause for concern anywhere we visited. The process has been seamless and orderly,” Atigwe added.
He commended party faithful for their maturity, discipline, and impressive turnout, stating that the unity displayed during the congress reflects the growing strength of the APC in Delta State.
Looking ahead to the 2027 general elections, Atigwe expressed optimism about the party’s prospects, saying the prevailing unity across the state signals a successful outing for the APC.
Also speaking, Chairman of Oshimili South council, Dr. Kelvin Ezenyili, expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the congress in the area. He praised residents and stakeholders for creating an enabling environment that ensured a hitch-free exercise.
Earlier, the APC State Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie, informed members of the monitoring committee that the party had achieved about 95 percent integration and alignment since April 28, 2025, when Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, defected to the APC and assumed leadership of the party in the state.
Sobotie attributed the successful integration process to the governor’s leadership style, describing him as visionary and result-driven and urged the congress committee to ensure that all processes remain credible and in line with the party’s guidelines.
At Ward 2, Owa-Alero in Ika North East Local Government Area, former Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, joined other party leaders in commending the APC leadership for adopting the consensus method in selecting ward executives.

He emphasized that Ughelli North, known for its large voter population and political awareness, remains united in its support for the APC, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and Governor Oborevwori.
APC chieftain, Olorogun Fred Majemite, equally praised the peaceful atmosphere of the congress, noting that party leaders ensured inclusiveness throughout the process. He expressed confidence that the APC would secure a decisive victory in the 2027 elections.

Overall, stakeholders across Delta State described the ward congress as peaceful, transparent, and reflective of the growing unity within the APC as the party positions itself strongly for future electoral contests.
