Department of State Services, DSS, on Saturday, confirmed that suspended Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele was in it’s custody.
Recall that Emefiele was on Friday suspended by President Bola Tinubu over allegation that the former was under criminal investigation.
Mr. Folashodun Shonubi, CBN Deputy Governor (Operations), has since been appointed acting CBN Governor.
DSS in a statement by it’s Public Relations Officer, Peter Afunanya, on Saturday said: “The DSS wishes to confirm that the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria is now in its custody for some investigative reasons.”
“The public, particularly the Media, is enjoined to apply utmost caution in the reportage and narratives concerning this,” DSS added.
