Nigeria’s Telecommunications giant, Globacom, has announced a special offering for Nigerian pilgrims performing their Islamic religious obligation in Mecca, thus providing them an opportunity to share their Hajj experiences with loved ones back home.
In the announcement, Globacom disclosed a special Glo Data roaming package in partnership with Zain Saudi Arabia, which enables subscribers to enjoy its data services in the Holy land for as low as N5/MB.
It further disclosed that pilgrims will get 3GB for N15,000 with 30 days’ validity, 1.25GB for N6,500 with 15 days’ validity, 600MB for N3,500 with seven days’ validity, and 300MB for just N2,000 with three days’ validity.
“Subscribers are also in control of their usage and there are no fears of additional billing as they only use from the bundle they purchase. Glo also ensures that customers receive consumption messages several times to enable them to monitor their depletion of the data purchased,” Globacom noted.
To subscribe to any of these roaming packages, all a subscriber needs to do is to dial *777# and select option 6 (data roaming).

Since roaming services are activated by default on prepaid lines, the company urged subscribers to ensure sufficient balance on their accounts.
Postpaid subscribers, however, need to activate the roaming service before they purchase any of these bundles.
In addition to the special offer for the Hajj period, Globacom has a roaming partnership in Saudi Arabia and in several other countries where its subscribers can enjoy seamless roaming services anytime they travel to any of them.
The countries include the United Kingdom, United States, United Arab Emirates, Canada, Netherlands, France, Cameroon, Ghana, Germany, Kenya, Italy, South Africa, South Africa, Cote D’Ivoire, Switzerland, Niger, Croatia, Greece, Sweden, Senegal, Belgium, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Ireland, Malta, Sri Lanka, Qatar, Turkey, Benin, Luxembourg, Morocco, Hong Kong, Iceland, Poland, Vatican, San Marino, Liechtenstein, Monaco and Andorra.
