As part of programme lined up to mark the 2023 Press Week of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Lagos State Council, It’s much awaited Public Lecture hold on Wednesday at the Combo Hall, LTV, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos State.
The Council Chairman, Adeleye Ajayi, said in a statement that the public lecture which has as its Theme: “Post Election Nigeria : Paths To National Restoration & Peace” would be graced by top media practitioners and captains of Industry.
He said: “We want to use this opportunity to inform all and sundry that this will be the best public lecture in the history of Lagos NUJ.
“We are equally looking forward to tap from the knowledge of a renowned Communications Scholar, Prof. Sunday Alawode, Dean, School of Communication Studies, Lagos State University, LASU, who is the Guest Speaker of the August Occasion,” he added.
The public Lecture will also be spiced with robust contributions from a carefully selected panel of discussants who are experts in various fields.
The Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief of The Guardian Newspapers, Mr. Martins Oloja is the Chairman of the event.
Names award recipients
Meanwhile, the Gala/ Awards Nite of the NUJ Press Week has been slated for Friday holds, at same venue, LTV combo Hall, Alausa, Ikeja.
The event will also recognise outstanding Nigerians whose names have graced the pages of history books.
Some of the Award recipients include Senator Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA, representing Lagos East Senatorial District; Adewale Temitope Adedeji, member, Lagos State House of Assembly representing Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency 01 and other distinguished leaders and members of the Union.
Also, corporate organisations
that have stamped Nigeria on the world map such as Airtel Nigeria, Nigeria Breweries Plc and Dangote Group will be celebrated.
NUJ Lagos Council, has meanwhile , extended its invite to well-wishers and distinguished personalities,media owners and journalists to be part of this milestone.
