Governor Sheriff Oborewori of Delta State is still committed to be a governor for all Deltans, says Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Sir Festus Ahon.
Ahon during a Radio programme in Kpoko FM, Warri, thanked the people of the State for their support during the elections and legal battles.
He assured that the Oborewori’s administration would not take the support of the people for granted.
He said: “The governor is fine and he is fast settling in for the business of governance, haven won 38 legal battles. Like he said in his M.O.R.E agenda, he is ready more than ever before to deliver the dividends of democracy to all Deltans.
“This is a government for every class of persons, nobody will be sidelined in this government. As you can see, projects are being executed across the state, in all senatorial districts, local government areas and communities.
“In the recent past we have also engaged over 2000 teaching and non-teaching staff in primary schools as a way of empowering and creating jobs for our people.

“We also paid over N5 billion as promotion arrears to civil servants. To say the least, this government is ready and prepared to serve the people of Delta State.”
On what Deltans should expect now, he said: “Now that the cases are over, Deltans should expect more projects. Even before now, we were never distracted as a government.
“During the tribunal cases, we were still focusing on the delivery of projects, but Deltans should expect more projects this time around.
“Delta state is already a construction site and we are not going to compromise in projects execution. We will ensure that quality projects are executed for the benefits of all Deltans.”
On what he expects from the opposition, Ahon, said: “We thank them for providing the opposition because Delta is not a one party state.
“Agreed, PDP is the dominant party here, they also made the contest robust. Having won at the Supreme Court which off course is the last hurdle to cross, we urge them to join hands with the Oborevwori’s government.

“I urge them to bring all their ideas on board so that we can work together to move the state forward.”
On whether Governor Oborewori was going to carry everybody along, the governor’s spokesman said: “Governor Oborevwori is a governor for all Deltans irrespective of political affiliation.
“He displayed it when late Frank Kokori was sick, he paid a surprise visit and off course he took up all the bills.
“As we speak, as a government we are also prepared to assist the family in giving the elder statesman a befitting burial.”
On carrying every part of the state along, he said: “Like I said earlier, every part of the state will be carried along in terms of projects, empowerment and appointments.”
On the present mood of the governor, he said: “We are still basking in the euphoria of our victory and we are still thanking God because we cannot thank Him enough.”
