The Delta State Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Mr. Samuel Oligida has commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s economic model, saying his sweeping reforms have unlocked the State’s economic potential and placed Delta in an enviable economic position with ample avenues for wealth creation, expansion, personal economic empowerment, and profit-making.
Oligida, in a statement, said the governor’s focus on growing small businesses has the potential to foster genuine economic growth and security.
In his desire to replicate the success story of more developed nations in Delta, he has embarked on various levels of micro-credit empowerment for youths and women, believing that genuine economic growth must be reflected in people’s quality of life rather than statistical demonstration.
The commissioner, who described small businesses as the backbone of Delta economy development, said the measure is one of many aggressive job creation economic regeneration models adopted by Governor Oborevwori’s administration in order to revitalise the economy and place Deltans at the centre of all his developmental agenda.

The Commissioner for trade and investment who was speaking while playing host to investment partners from across the Niger, said Governor Oborevwori has demonstrated that he is the most prepared for the job of governance, with a ready template for the State to wean itself from the debilitating dependence on oil through diversification measures that has made life worth living for the masses.
He said: “Oborevwori is a God-fearing man of God, with a mild manners that can collaborate intellectually in establishing a robust relationship between the government and the organised private sector in providing massive employment for the youths.
“Even his worst critics have admitted to his ingenuity in tackling serious developmental issues of urgent public importance, that has ranked him above them. Under his leadership, Delta has witness an unrestrained and cultured government, driven by the rule of law where everybody has been made somebody.”
