Edo State Deputy Governor, Mr. Philip Shaibu, Saturday, joined other dignitaries from across the state, at the funeral ceremony of late Mrs. Agnes Saiki.
The deceased is mother to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Edo North Senatorial Chairman, Segun Saiki.
Mrs Agnes Saiki passed on at the ripe age of 95 years.
The event held at Igarra, the administrative headquarters of Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of Edo State.
In his remarks, Shaibu described the event as celebration of life for a virtuous woman.
“We are not mourning like others do. Let me charge children of the deceased to sustain the good legacy their beloved mother left behind.
Shaibu also paid a condolence visit to the fiery man of God and General Overseer of All Faith Calvary Church, Igarra, Pastor Isaac Billions Itakun, over the demise of his father.
He commended the popular preacher for being a spiritual blessing to the people of Akoko-Edo, while congratulating him on his birthday anniversary, due in two weeks.
Shaibu, who was was accorded a warm welcome by the popular preacher, poured out his heart in prayers for the Deputy Governor.
“I pray for you according to the vision God gave me concerning you.
“As you continue to advance and move forward in your political quest, God himself will give you direction and make his plans come to fulfilment as He has promised,” Pastor Itakun added.

Earlier, the Otaru of Igarra, His Royal Highness, Oba Saiki 11, who received the Deputy Governor in his palace at Igarra, thanked him for maintaining close contact with the people.
Other dignitaries at the funeral event include member representing Akoko-Edo Constituency 2, Donald Okogbe, PDP chieftains, Sunny Okomayin and Sylvester Amune.
