Breaking: Tinubu writes House of Reps, seeks approval to appoint 20 aides

…As Senate grants similar request

Following the approval of his request to appoint 20 aides on Tuesday, President Bola Tinubu has written the House of Representatives, seeking their approval to appoint the 20 aides.

The Senate had on Tuesday, following letter by President Tinubu, read by the President of the Senate, Senator Ahmad Lawan, granted the president’s request to appoint 20 Special Advisers.

In a similar letter to the House of Representatives, addressed to the Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila, was, however, read at the plenary on Tuesday by the deputy speaker, Ahmed Wase who chaired the session.

Recall that Gbajabiamila, outgoing Speaker of the House of Representatives, was on Friday, appointed by President Tinubu as his Chief of Staff, while former Minister of Special Duties, Senator George Akume, was named Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
