Ebonyi CP, Ogbodo, lead flagship of new PSC guidelines on gender balance

The New Commissioner of Police of Ebonyi State, Augustina Ogbodo and others are flagships of the New Police Service Commission Guidelines on Gender Balance and Federal Character.

CP Augustina Ogbodo has had a distinctive and distinguished career in the Nigerian Police Force with accolades.

Earlier in her professional career, she had served in different formations in the Country including the popular Adeniji-Adele Police Formation and even the same Ebonyi State Police Command.

In her recent postings , she was the Deputy Commissioner of Police , Homicide Section of the Force CIID, Abuja and until recently the Commissioner of Police , Welfare,of the Nigerian Police Force.

Under her watch , welfare of Officers of Men of the Police were well taken of , with swift alacrity.

She was recently appointed the 3rd Female Commissioner of Police , of Ebonyi State and her track records ,indicates she will bring new vistas into policing in Ebonyi State.

She is a Member of the Multi -sectoral online Security Tracking Platform called the Security Situation Room.

The guidelines provide that at least, three out of the 37 state commands must have female officers as Commissioners of Police, CPs, and one out of the 17 zonal headquarters must have a female Assistant Inspector-General, AIG, in charge.

According to the Commission, the guidelines were to avoid portraying the NPF as anti-female and address the lopsided appointment of only male officials to Zones and Commands.

The PSC also approved that all geo-political zones must have at least 15 per cent representation in the deployment of Assistant Inspectors-General, Commissioners of Police and Commanding Officers to address the lack of equity and inclusiveness in the deployment of senior officers within the NPF.
