Edo Assembly clears Obaseki’s first batch of commissioner-nominees

Edo State House of Assembly, Thursday, cleared the first batch of commissioner-nominees submitted by Governor Godwin Obaseki for screening and confirmation.

Recall that Governor Obaseki, had forwarded the names of the first batch of commissioner-nominees to the Edo State House of Assembly for consideration and confirmation.
In a letter addressed to the Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, the Secretary to the State Government, Osarodion Ogie, read: “I write at the instance of His Excellency, the Governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, to forward herewith the under-listed names of Commissioner Nominees to the Edo State House of Assembly for consideration and confirmation.”

The names include: “Ethan Uzamere, Christopher Nehikhare, Monday Osaigbovo, Dr. Joan Osa-Oviawe, Isoken Omo, Stephen Idehenre, Oluwole Osaze-Uzzi, Patrick Uanseru, Dr. Samuel Alli, “Adaze Aguele-Kalu, Kingsley Uwagbale, Uyi Malaka, Joshua Omokhodion, Ojiefoh Donatus and Christabel Omo Ekwu.
“I am to request that the above nominees be expeditiously screened and confirmed.
“Please accept the assurance of the warm regards of the governor,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Assembly, on Thursday, at plenary, screened and confirmed the nominees after due deliberation.
