A Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship aspirant in Edo State, Mr. Philip Shaibu, has said his government would enhance the healthcare system of the state, if he emerges the party flagbearer and wins the September poll.
The Edo State deputy governor, and a frontline aspirant for the PDP primary election slated for February 22, on his plans for the health sector, said:
“As we diligently endeavour to enhance the healthcare system in our beloved state, a pivotal aspect of our comprehensive strategy will involve extensively examining the Doctors’ welfare.
“This examination will encompass a thorough evaluation of their salaries, housing provisions, and other enticing incentives that can significantly contribute to ensuring their overall well-being.
“The doctors, who bravely safeguard us from health threats and tirelessly strive to promote a healthy existence, rightfully deserve to enjoy a life that is devoid of unnecessary hardships.
“We must prioritize their welfare and take adequate measures to provide them with the comfort they need to fulfil their duties effectively.
“By addressing their remuneration, housing, and other benefits, we aim to demonstrate our unwavering commitment to valuing their contribution and acknowledging the vital role they play within our healthcare system.
“By doing so, we are ultimately fostering an environment that nurtures their well-being, leading to increased motivation and a higher quality of healthcare services for all our citizens,” he added.
