Mr. Peter Obi has congratulated President of African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), Prof Benedict Oramah on his emergence as Forbes Africa’s 2023 Person of the Year.
Obi in a statement on Tuesday, said: “I most heartily rejoice with my dear friend and brother, the President of African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), Prof Benedict Oramah on his emergence as Forbes Africa’s 2023 Person of the Year.
“The Afreximbank, under his leadership, has continued to witness tremendous growth and development and has continued to provide smart financial solutions, the latest being the launch of the Pan-African Payment and Settlement System, a historic project for cross-border payments in African currencies, by the bank.
“Prof Oramah has, no doubt, contributed immensely to the economic development of Africa. His award and recognition, stemming from his verifiable achievements over the years, do not only inspire but remind us of how progressive, organisations or nations, can be if they get the right set of competent, capable, and committed leaders.
“I congratulate Prof Oramah on this great and deserving achievement. I have no doubt in my mind that he will work even harder to make more laudable contributions to Africa, and to our dear nation, Nigeria.
