Edo State Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, has mourned the passing of Mariam Abubakar, former state Commissioner for Budget.
In his condolence message on Sunday, Shaibu said: “It is with a deep sense of loss that I received news of the passing of an illustrious Edo daughter, Hajia Mariam Abubakar.
“She was a peerless mother and loving wife whose exemplary life will remain a source of inspiration to the loved ones she left behind.
“As a member of EXCO, she served the Government and good people of Edo State as Commissioner for Budget with uncommon passion, commitment and dedication to the overall development of our dear State.

“I am proud to say that she was a pleasant personality with an infectious character and stickler for moral values.
“Her demise, no doubt, is a great loss to family members, friends and associates. Permit me to counsel all to sustain her good legacies in remembrance of fond memories.
“May God Almighty grant the repose of her gentle soul eternal rest,” Shaibu added.
