State governors in the country have supported President Bola Tinubu on the fuel subsidy removal.
The state governor under aegis of Nigerian Governors Forum, NGF, at a meeting with President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Wednesday, thanked the President for the invitation to deliberate on the challenges of poverty and security, promising that the governors would support the Federal Government in meeting the targets of human development.
Also in attendance at the meeting were Vice President Kashim Shettima and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, and 22 governors and two deputy governors from Edo and Niger States.
NGF Chairman and governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, commended the President for the fuel subsidy-removal.
President Tinubu on his part called on the governors to work with the Federal Government in tackling the menace of poverty in the country, saying the level of impoverishment was unacceptable.
