IPoB opposes naming 2nd Niger Bridge after Buhari

Indigenous People of Biafra IPoB, has opposed the naming of the 2nd Niger Bridge after President Mohammadu Buhari by South East governors.

IpoB said the governors do not speak for Ndigbo and cannot single handedly, and without consulting Ndigbo, name the bridge after anybody.

IpoB in a statement by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful on Thursday, said: “The attention of the global family and movement of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPoB, under the leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has been drawn to the shameful naming of the 2nd Niger Bridge after General Muhammadu Buhari, by shameless Igbo politicians, particularly the shameless South East Governors.

Out-going President Muhammadu Buhari

“The man that the 2nd Niger Bridge was named after did not even show up for the opening ceremony because he has no respect or regard for Ndigbo and knows that he does not deserve any accolades in Biafra land.

“The saboteurs and sellouts among the South Eastern Governors, particularly APC governors, working for their caliphate masters, want hater of Ndigbo, to become the face of the Eastern region, as they display the face and name of a man who does not deserve any accolade from Ndigbo at the entry and exit point of South East through the bridge.

“Mohammadu Buhari was among the Nigeria genocidist soldiers who massacred Ndigbo at Asaba, Anambra, Enugu, Imo, Abia and the rest of the Eastern region. His government coordinated the influx of Fulani terrorists masquerading as herdsmen, who have massacred our people and raped our women.

“The lawless government of Muhammadu Buhari, went to Kenya, kidnapped an illustrious son of Igboland and a crown prince, the leader of IPoB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, renditioned him to Nigeria and has refused to release him even after competent courts have ordered for his unconditional release.

“The same man and his government dishonoured Igbo elders who visited and begged him to release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. An elder statesman and respected Igbo leader, late Chief Mbazulike Amechi, begged him to release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, to him as his last wish, yet he denied the honorable last wish of Chief Amechi till he died.

“On what basis or rationale was the 2nd Niger bridge named after Muhammadu Buhari? Did he initiate nor release any funding for the second Niger bridge project? Why must the Fulani stooges among the Eastern Governors and politicians name the bridge after him?

“South East governors and politicians should stop insulting our collective intelligence. The Eastern Governors and political should know that they are holding their position in trust for the people and shouldn’t see themselves as demi gods. Others were there before them, and one day, they would also vacate their positions.

“Whatever good or bad they do as Governors will await them after office. The current Eastern political leaders have a choice to uphold the collective will of our people or please the caliphate at their own political and personal peril. The days of public deceptions are over. IPoB has woken the consciousness of our people.

“Either the masses will hold you accountable or IPoB, will, as the representative of our people, in due time you will give accounts of your stewardship to Ndigbo, you will not remain in that office endlessly, we will come for all of you to demand for accounts of your stewardship to our people.”

“We therefore, we call on the Eastern Governors and politicians to rename the 2nd Niger Bridge, after Dr. Alex Ekweueme, Chief Odumegwu Ojukwu, Dr. Sam Mbakwe, Prof. Chinua Achebe, Col. Joe Achuzie, or many others that are well-deserving Igbo indigene that anyone can suggest.

The name ‘Muhammadu Buhari’ is a taboo in Biafraland. If these treacherous political leaders refuse to heed to our suggestion of renaming the 2nd Niger bridge, we shall declare them enemies of the people. IPoB doesn’t want any infrastructure anywhere in Biafra land named after Muhammadu Buhari.

“Those already named after him and other enemies of Biafra must be renamed. We shall mount consistent campaigns against Igbo haters, murderers and terrorists enablers and ensure that they become forbidden names in Biafra land. Any governor or politician who names any infrastructure after such forbidden names will become a Biafran enemy.

“Naming the 2nd Niger Bridge after Buhari must not be allowed. The bridge must be renamed to a meritorious Igbo man. The Eastern politicians should tell us any project in the North named after an Igbo person. Our political leaders should stop being cowards and Fulani/ Arewa political stooges.

“They are desecrating and disgracing the culture of Ndigbo, who never bow down to any man, but only worships Chukwu Okike Abiama (God Almighty).

“IPoB maintains that 2nd Niger Bridge must be renamed. If no Biafran is found worthy by the Eastern politicians, to name after the 2nd Niger bridge, the existing name of Onitsha River Niger or Head Bridge should be maintained.”
