Kogi gov: CNPP congratulates Ododo on his election

Conference of Nigeria Political Parties, CNPP, has congratulated Alhaji Usman Ododo, candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC, in the November 11, governorship election in Kogi State, on his declaration as governor-elect.

CNPP’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary, James Ezema, the umbrella association of all registered political parties and political associations in Nigeria, in a statement, noted that despite reported hitches and pockets of issues associated with the off-cycle governorship elections in the country, the deployment of electoral officers by Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, was commendable.

Advising the governor-elect to embrace all sections of the political and tribal devides in the state on assumption of office, CNPP urged the incoming administration to address negative publicity against the state as matter of priority.

It said: “Reports of isolated cases of malpractices and attempted voters’ inducement, were immediately arrested by the anti-graft and other security agencies.
